The Lightning Queen

The Lightning Queen

By Laura Resau

This book is set on the Hill of Dust, in Mexico, in the 1950's. And now, without his mother, sister, and father, Teo's life is even worse. Then one day, a gypsy caravan rolls into town. On it he finds mysterious young Esma, who says she was struck by lightning. When the Mistress of Destiny predicts Teo and Esma's future, Esma is sure they will be best friends. But things are not always what they seem.
With the help of an adopted duck, a three legged skunk, a blind goat and many other allies, Teo and Esma set off on an adventure that will take many years. Over those years, Teo and Esma's friendship grows stronger, until finally it cannot be stopped by any obstacles. Not age, separation, or even death.
This book is on my favorites list because it is so beautiful. I love how detailed and interesting this book is and it is one of the best books I ever read.
